What Our Retained Search Looks Like

Our retained search is a structured, research-led hiring partnership designed for roles where the cost of getting it wrong is high.

We begin with role calibration and a clear search strategy, followed by detailed market mapping to understand where the right talent sits and how accessible it is. From there, we run a targeted, discreet search, engaging both active and passive candidates through direct outreach and industry networks.

A curated longlist of 5–7 genuinely interested and relevant candidates is presented. Once a shortlist is agreed, we facilitate introductory coffee-style conversations before moving candidates into formal interviews.

Candidates progressing to interview stage undergo a structured Gap Analysis, followed by a Due Diligence Report for those entering final stages. This ensures interviews are evidence-based, risks are identified early, and final decisions are well-informed.

We manage interview coordination throughout, negotiate salary and terms on the candidate’s behalf, and support the process through offer, acceptance, and onboarding.

Following placement, we remain closely involved with weekly follow-up for four months, supporting both client and candidate through the critical integration period.

DELIVERY TIMELINES

Clear delivery timelines are agreed upfront to ensure momentum and accountability on both sides.

  • Market mapping is delivered within two weeks from search commencement.
    • A tailored longlist of 5–7 candidates is delivered within three weeks from search commencement, subject to timely client feedback and availability.

These timelines are indicative of a focused retained search and may be adjusted by mutual agreement where role complexity or market conditions require.

SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT (SLA)

All retained searches are governed by a signed Service Level Agreement to ensure clarity, pace, and alignment.

Our commitments include:
• Dedicated, exclusive search focus for the duration of the assignment
• Delivery against agreed timelines
• Transparent reporting and regular communication
• Structured Gap Analysis and Due Diligence Report at the appropriate stages
• Professional candidate engagement and representation

Client commitments include:
• Exclusive engagement for the duration of the retained search
• Timely feedback on profiles and interviews
• Availability for calibration, shortlisting, and decision-making
• Clear sign-off authority on role scope, shortlist progression, and offers

The SLA ensures the search runs as a true partnership, with shared accountability for outcomes.

COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE

The total estimated fee is agreed upfront based on the anticipated total remuneration for the role.

  • One third payable upfront on commencement of the search
    • One third payable once interviews are set up
    • Final one third payable on successful placement, adjusted up or down to reflect the final accepted offer

A six-month guarantee applies from the candidate’s start date.
